The team at OSCO Developments draw on over 40 years of experience in development, manufacturing, engineering and construction industries.
Giving back is at the core of our ethos and that is why we are proud to be able to work with and develop people who find themselves distant from the labour market be that they are currently unemployed or recent released from prison and need an opportunity to keep them on track. We believe the low skilled worker of today will be the trainer or supervisor of tomorrow.
The Osco Developements Process
Whether working with our partner architects or a client’s preferred architect, we will strive to deliver a functional design that incorporates all the requirements of the client and by extension the end user of the properties.
Whether a client/developer wants to initially implement features such are heat recovery systems, H VAC systems or other modern features within a design, these can be accommodate for immediate implementation or for future implementation, we can accommodate these items within the design of the frame.
As standard all of our steel frames incorporate service holes at low, medium and high level within our wall studs and large service holed within our floor and roof cassettes to facilitate the running of electric able and water distribution pipes. Compared to traditional build where these service routes would have to be cased out of block/brickwork and similar service holes would have to be drilled through timber studs, our LGS frames allow for much faster implementation of first fix plumbing and electrical runs.
These are just some of the features we design into our frames to make the whole process as cost effective while while functional for the client.
The Manufacturing Process
Our steel frames arrive at “flat pack” and our skilled operatives will assemble the frames as illustrated in the photo and will begin the process of building up the various layers of materials that provide structural rigidity, insulation, air tightness and facade finish.
Our facade finished can match anything that is available in traditional or timber frame builds, but where traditional and timber frame are constrained by the structural nature of the building Osco Developments can implement hybrid systems where we can take the best aspects of traditional and timber frame and implement them with the LGS frame.
The Finished Wall Panels
As you can see from the adjacent photo, we are not limited to one particular finish per elevation or wall panel. We will work with the architect to manufacture and deliver wall panels that are thermally very efficient, aesthetic and planning compliant.
Moving House
In an effort to figuratively and literally deliver a sustainably constructed house, out transportation team make every effort to minimize the number of loads required to safely deliver a house to site.
Prior to commencement of a project our manufacturing team will assess if the site is a viable site for an MMC development, i.e. evaluate the nearby road network for delivery vehicle access, suitable crane location, suitable site access and egress points, etc.
Every effort will be made to achieve a clients requirements to deliver a development that exceeds their initial expectations.
The Install Process
Our experienced installation team will begin the process of installing the wall panels, followed by floor cassettes and so on until the roof cassettes are in place and the zip-up process can commence. The zip-up process involves covering all the joints to the various sections. Once compete the building will we water tight and externally complete.
Time-lapse construction
The video shows a time-lapse of the construction of a pair of semi-detached houses in three days.
The zip-up process took and additional 4 days to complete, but the house was weather tight in three days.
